Our Vision
Segue seeks to lead students to a life of love, freedom, and purpose.
Our Mission
Through a relational presence on the public school campus we seek to introduce students to Jesus Christ and the local church.
5 Year Plan
Segue has had the privilege to impact 13 schools in just under 3 years thus far. We have an ongoing daily presence on 4 campuses and a consistent presence with 9 schools. With God leading us and as finances and resources allow us, our plan is to have a daily presence on one additional campus per year. This year, 2011, is when we are striving to implement our mentorship program on one campus. Our hope is to have our mentorship program on 3 campuses within two years. We are also striving to add a teen mom’s support component to our abstinence program, Flipside. Our DnA program (drug/alcohol prevention assemblies) is gaining more and more momentum and is averaging 4 or more schools a year, thus educating 10,000 - 12,000 students a year on healthy choices when it comes to drugs and alcohol. As a follow-up to these assemblies, we hope to have 10-15 Pathways (support groups for hurting teens) established at various churches over the next 5 years. Our 5 year plan for Spectrum (christian leadership) is to have 12 churches involved as we train their students to impact their campus for Christ. All of our plans are dependent on the Holy Spirit’s lead and the communities and churches that support us.
History of Segue
Segue was officially established September of 2008. But the dream of Segue began long before that. It was born out of the acknowledgement that para church organizations are great at outreach ministry when it comes to middle and high school students but often fall short when it comes to discipleship and connecting kids back to the church. Another observation was made that the church is great at discipling and raising mature believers among middle and high school students but often fall short at outreach ministry to the schools. Our attempt to “segue” the two together, is Segue Ministries Inc. Segue began as a direct ministry of Perimeter Church and evolved into a non profit in March of 2011. After much prayer and several conversations with Principals, we arrived with our 5 components/programs. Segue’s proposed attempt to do something so great for God, is to be the best at connecting the public middle & high school campuses to the church and the church to the public school campuses.
